jennafansThe Witnesses are not driven against Ninuan by necessity, by deprivation, by the social forces of their kin. They come here, to us, to Creation, out of what they say is a love for our philosophy.
In Ninuan there is no truth but hypothesis. If two plus two makes four, that is a perception contingent on one's perspective. The Witnesses do not accept this. They have seen, each to each, the billowing fire of an Estate of Creation, how it burns itself into light and meaning, how it relates absolutely to Creation's substrate, and they refuse to let that vision slip through their fingers. So they make the pilgrimage. They come here, to Creation, to this our shining city on a hill.
Of those Ninuani things who seek out Creation they are perhaps the most congenial to the efforts of the Valde Bellum. They are erudite and articulate and happy to help protect all the Estates of Creation. To the Powers and Imperators of their Estate they are hangers-on and sycophants and cheerleaders.
They are also by far the most antipathic towards Ninuan; they are those who call for the destruction of unbeing, for the encompassing of all the void into a great tesselating stratum of Creation. This is probably unwarranted and definitely reaks of colonialism!
Witnesses buy Ability at 1 CP each. They are extremely competent geniuses unbound by physicality. They often have Bonds relating to some personal philosophical viewpoint; Geasa and Gifts are both much rarer.
Like Deceivers they have Theft, the art by which they calcify, concretify, render objective and subject to scrutiny the vague subjective miasma of their borrowed Estate.
In Creation they have an Eide, a dream-of-self they construct to interact with us. They dream themselves dashing and heroic and charming, dream themselves above and immune to the petty vagaries of the world they claim to love.
Their Lore is like the Lore of the Strategists, except that where Strategist's Spheres are correlational, the Spheres of the Witnesses are coercive. With their vision they force Ninuan into a lattice that relates to a Creational Estate and chokes the things un-living therein into shapes of their choosing.
Finally, of their chosen Estate they are Prophets, blessed by its favor and wielder of its mysteries.
