Misconceptions
...find genesis in the lack of reflection.
...frustrate the pursuit of truth.

It is, perhaps, impossible to know anything about the Viscountess of Misconceptions, known colloquially as "Miss Ellipses Dash Dash." There are thousands of rumors, mysteries, heresies and award winning screenplays about her true identity.

When asked, she simply pulls down her sunglasses, brings her hand up to her mouth and blows a big kiss. Then she says that this is her "Magnum Opus," and walks away.

The following is an incomplete collection of rumors surrounding her:

That she is the daughter of Cneph-Who-Made and the true heir to heaven.
That she is someone who attained omnipotence by being the first person to kiss their own elbow.
That she is the soul of the first world to be born, that descended into hell after being rejected by heaven.
That she is an Excrucian mimic pretending to be a power.
That she is secretly Lord Entropy in disguise.
That Lord Entropy is secretly her in disguise.
That she is an ordinary woman from Kansas trying her best and having quite the time.

Miss Ellipses Dash Dash has the following afflictions, anchored treasures and the Mysterious Gift.

Affliction: Just when you think you've got me, you realize you had mistaken someone else for me the whole time. [5]
Affliction: If you take a picture of me, it will always turn into a startled looking portrait of a 16th century playwright. It's a different one each time. [2]

Her treasures include: A small snuffbox that can capture and release rumors and gossip (Wondrous treasure) and very nice brass stopwatch (Mundane treasure).

The Serpent Avesh has long been known for being a particularly experimental sort - his later exploits would include, among other things, attempting to capture Excrucians and trying to enNoble them to see what would happen. But once upon a time, Enheduanna was a weaver; and that is why Avesh called upon her to be the Lady Weaving, one of the first Powers to ever exist, in the First Age of the World.

She was one of the first to agree that Noble society would need a covenant. Her expertise in the weft and warp of the world made her critical in recording and brokering the deals that would make everyone agree to the Accords. And it was she who spoke the miracles that fixed the orrery of Misenchronic Engine to an ash-tree, that made the gearteeth of its inner workings mesh, that bound the turning of its hands and spindles to the spirit of the Accords. All res that have been made since then use the Lady Weaving's original miracles as a template.

Enheduanna lived through the Second Age, and much of the early Third; and was struck down while serving in the defense of the planet Sorrensem, by the blade of the Strategist Domeli Huctredus. Since then, there have been many other Lords and Ladies Weaving; but it was not until these last few years, when Rosaline Ackers willingly sacrificed herself, that the Lady Weaving in full glory rose again.

Toby Houston is a Regal of his Estate, and as such his Estate conforms to his desires with barely a thought. Toby Houston has a great deal of Purity. This makes the Internet one of the most ritually pure congregations of mortals in Creation.

This is not a good thing.

Purity is an ethos for Nobles. It is a system that only makes sense as a way to apply a unified concept of morality to the various Songs that the Nobilis individually pursue. To pursue Purity is to gather and purge one’s momentary passions, animal instincts, and transient beliefs; and this means that having Purity imposed on you turns you into a caricature of the things you hold dearest to your heart, with all else discarded. And this is why the Internet is filled with warriors deadlocked in eternal arguments, fringe beliefs with tiny handfuls of believers that will deny all evidence, and a total lack of regard for the people on the other side of the screen.

Toby Houston does not care what morality you follow, so long as you are absolute in your dedication. And the ways in which he has bent the mortal world to this ideal are either the best or the worst things he has ever done.
