jennafansone Superior Skill and one Magical Skill for Chuubo's Marvelous Wish-Granting Engine. i made these to help me write a different thing.
... oh yeah, and they're themed after Maurice Sendak's Where the Wild Things Are. it was a weird and metafictional thing about being a monster and/or monster hunter!

(Superior) Wild Thing
The Earth was a wild place. There were creatures with scales and fur and giant fangs and sharp claws and gnashing teeth. These creatures roared back-and-forth across the mountains, made meals of smaller beasts, and picked their teeth with pine trees.
That was long ago. The Wild Things made a new Where their home. In their absence Earth has become almost delicate and refined, a carefully balanced system. If Wild Things were to stomp once more upon its surface it would shatter to a million pieces.
Sometimes, Wild Things come back in through the cracks others left behind. Also, most creatures are descended from Wild Things and still have beastly features. That's why we have this Skill!
Generally, this Skill allows you to
(Superior) Wild Thing -1. You're from another planet, one that was never wild, not even a thousand million billion quadrillion years ago.
(Superior) Wild Thing 0. You're something domesticated, like a housecat or househuman.
(Superior) Wild Thing 1. You're a little bit beastly. If you're human, maybe you have a supernaturally loud roar, or teeth sharp enough to cut metal. If you're not human, you're probably a small wild creature like a fox, a feral cat, or o possum.
(Superior) Wild Thing 2. You might be halfway wild (compared to the original Things) — like a big bear or a fearsome wolf or an eagle that snatches little children up in its talons, or like a human that half the time (only at night, only when submerged in salt water, only when you're not looking) is a Wild Thing.
(Superior) Wild Thing 3. You're a Wild Thing. You hail from the place Where the Wild Things Are, and have all sorts of bestial features. You could beat ANY bear in a wrestling match unless it was a laser bear. You have abilities which allow you to promote the natural cycles of the world, like the day-night cycle, the precipitation cycle, or the cycle of life.
(Superior) Wild Thing 4-5. Things of such a kind aren't really around anymore. Maybe they're sleeping in the center of the planet. Maybe a meteor knocked them all down like dominoes (although, that seems unlikely given their ability to promote natural forces — considering they are, themselves, natural forces). Whatever and Wherever they are, they are ancient, massive, and monstrous.

a Magical Skill
This Skill is used to soothe and to calm those who are wild or in a rage. At higher Obstacles it can be used to tame and command Wild Things.
The four nonmagical techniques of this Skill are:
[Obstacle 0] calming down someone who's angry or upset;
[Obstacle 0] making soothing hot drinks and soups, such as tea, hot chocolate, or chicken noodle soup;
[Obstacle 0] dealing with Wild Things, in general;
[Obstacle 0] staring someone dead in the eyes to stop them in their tracks.
It can also let you do magical things like:
[Obstacle 1] hush a whole crowd of Wild Things instantly, and make them stop whatever they're doing for a second;
[Obstacle 2] command the respect of one or a handful of Wild Things, even those that don't want to respect you;
[Obstacle 3] command the respect of a big, festival-audience crowd of Wild Things;
[Obstacle 4] give a Wild Thing a command it must follow (this can be modelled as a miracle depending on the circumstances);
[Obstacle 4] let the Wild Rumpus start.
