also prompts for headcanons, like "what would the characters be like in this crossover" and "which of the GMD characters is most likely to grill canapes by mistake"
the recurring train of thought that's currently got my brain in a chokegrip is deeply considering seizhi and leonardo
first of all i have basically always assumed that there is unspoken weird tension between them especially wrt interacting with chuubo. and on the surface there really shouldn't be because if they ever confronted each other about it seiz would be all "listen i'm chuubo's best friend and i understand him better than anyone and you're just going to have to deal with that" and leo would do his best to assert "who said i wanted to be friends with him anyway i have NO friends none could match my brilliance KEEP your wretched insipid friendship" etc etc and YET... there would still be A Tension
second... physical contrast... i was already kind of drawing them like this but you BET i'm going to do my best to subtly emphasize it now i've caught on. my seizhi's on the shorter side and kinda squishy and full of curves and friend-shapes and my leo is a tall variety pack of unpleasant gangly angles. the hair colors obviously... and, like, the amount of SUN they both get, freckly seizhi vs. leonardo 'can't go out in daylight i'll catch An Emotion' de montreal. i mean what a slap in the face. "the person who was pulled out of the ether as my platonic ideal Best Possible Friend is about as visibly opposite of you as it is possible to get."
third: do their """"childhood memories"""" match up? i mean, if you play through the early-years prologue they do obvi, but the GMD game i was in had seizhi and dulcinea meet for the first time in regular play and in retrospect it raised questions. when given the setup of "seizhi and [de montreal] meet for the first time when de montreal returns from the academy" i feel like it's most amusing if their memories just absolutely don't mesh. what i'm picturing is leonardo, because he was outside reality at the time and insulated against the wish that made seizhi, remembering a version where he hung out with chuubo occasionally and chuubo didn't really have other friends; and seizhi, & the rest of Town, obviously remembers the version where they grew up together.. i guess chuubo just holds both versions simultaneously and doesn't think about it that hard? ...he does KNOW that he wished for seizhi, and why, surely??? LIKE I SAID, QUESTIONS
pointless colortrivia: in GMD they're on complimentary blue and orange arcs; investigating/understanding seizhi's family is supposed to involve a lot of blue-flavored actions; i don't remember leonardo necessarily having any plot threads specifically called out as orange-flavor but i also don't feel out of line saying the struggle to achieve heroism feels appropriate; angel-of-recovery leo is orange and upcoming horizon seizhi is blue (potentially even WA-blue if not using the new arcs)... in conclusion i love a foil thanks for attending this ted talk
I imagine Edony gets regular work from Town's science groups to find the deviant scientists who take to Old Molder and get them to actually publish something. I imagine that being the type of scientist who lives in Old Molder is not conducive to things like collaboration or publishing or keeping legible notes.
sure i'll bite the bullet and ramble
